The department of Defence has found human remains among the wreckage of the British Lancaster ED603. Last Monday, a team started salvaging the wreck on lake IJssel. The plane was shot down on the night of June 13, 1943 after a bombing flight over the Ruhr area. After the crash four of the crew members washed up on the shores of lake IJssel. Three men are still listed as missing.
