On Friday 15 September, the municipality of Súdwest-Fryslân welcomed around 100 primary schoolchildren to Kornwerderzand. For the past few months, they were taught about the Lancaster ED603 and its brave crew members. Last week, that story came very close with a meeting with the relatives and a visit to the Lancaster’s visitor centre. There, they were busy crafting a paper Lancaster, making the Lancaster puzzel and digging up Lancaster coins. A special experience for the schoolchildren from Workum, Stavoren and Hindeloopen.
